A Quick Word On The COVID-19 Crisis

Certainly, we don’t need to tell you about the upheaval in most everyone’s lives that is going on, these days.  We do want to take a moment to offer our support to families that are struggling.  Not everyone can work from home.  Many employers have had to lay off workers because of work shortages or health-safety concerns.  We will continue to watch for any information that will help ease these stressful times.  We will pass on any helpful information.  Please feel free to forward the information to anyone who may need it, whether we are representing them, or not.

We have received questions about how our office is operating.  We want to update our clients and others with whom we work to get the word out.  First, and foremost, we recognize that by observing and following current health and safety guidelines we are not only protecting ourselves, but we are being responsible citizens of the community.  We do not want to take unnecessary risks that will put anyone else’s health at risk.

The Law Office of Matthew A. Lathrop will stay open and all our staff will be keeping their usual hours.

Our state-of-the-art office allows every one of us, to work in any location that provides a safe, secure, and strong internet and cellular connection.  Much of our work is paperless.   All vital case information is accessible even if we are not in the office.

All calls are being handled by our excellent reception staff and are being connected, live to us, seamlessly and nearly flawlessly.  We are proud of these great workers and are grateful for their dedication to serve you.

All physical mail is being reviewed each day and routed to the appropriate person.  Do not fear.  All important snail mail is getting through.  We are responding to mail in the customary time frame and all-important appointments, deadlines, hearings, and meetings are being calendared and handled as is appropriate, required and safe.

For Current Clients

If you have a matter being handled by us, we are taking every measure to keep the case on-track and moving towards resolution.  If anything, this time of reduced meetings and hearings has given us, your team, the chance to focus more on the behind-the-scenes matters that really move a case.  At this point, at least, we feel we are keeping up with our own case-progression standards.

We are, for the time being, moving all client meetings and appointments to non-face-to-face formats.  For anyone needing to meet with a lawyer or staff member, we are offering to schedule those meetings as a phone conference, or, if you prefer, we have the ability to schedule a video conference with you, at no cost.  This will allow us to maintain our high level of client contact and communication, without taking unnecessary risks.

The feedback, so far, is very positive.  The technology to meet is not difficult and is very reliable.  Client’s and others who have met this way, find it to be a very solid substitute for the in-person meetings they need and like.

Please email or call with any questions you have, or concerns that you would like to have addressed.

We appreciate your patience during this unusual time.  I’m sure we can agree that, while this is a difficult time, we have many blessings for which we can be truly grateful.

Sincerely,

Your Team at the Law Office of Matthew A. Lathrop.
