Abbie is the Chief Operating Officer at the Law Office of Matthew Lathrop.  Her drive for growing the business and providing superior customer service pairs well with founder, Matt Lathrop’s vision for the future of his firm and the overall client experience.  By applying strong business acumen, leadership talents and systems acuity, Abbie is most comfortable being at the center of operational change and growth. She is an avid and constant learner and enjoys reading, listening to podcasts and attending meaningful seminars that promote growth and change.

After her ten-year career as a Litigation Paralegal and HR Specialist she transitioned into a business role in 2016.  Her entire career has been in the legal field and putting client’s interests first. While her direct focus has been primarily in personal injury and wrongful death, Abbie has also worked in family law, criminal and immigration law.

Abbie received her Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies from Bellevue University.  She then earned her Master of Science in Human Resource Strategic Management and graduated with her Executive Master of Business Administration from UNO in December 2019, she was awarded the Eva Jon Sperling award for leadership. Abbie currently serves as a micro-mentor volunteer for small business owners in the Nebraska area. She is also a board member of the Nebraska Foster Care Review Board and University of Nebraska at Omaha’s EMBA Board. Serving her community and doing her part to make a difference is important to her.

Abbie is an Omaha native.  She is married to Oscar and they have wrangled 3 boys. Abbie enjoys traveling with her family and checking out the best snorkeling and scuba diving spots, becoming scuba certified is her goal. She has a strong passion for animals and for her community. She has been known to own three to five rescue pets too many, but her heart just cannot say no.
